Dr. Ernst is a Professor of Equine Surgery, Sports Medicine and Lameness at the University of Minnesota Leatherdale Equine Center. He graduated from the Facultad de Ciencias Veterinaria de la Universidad de Chile in 1999. Following graduation, he moved to United States where he completed an internship at Chino Valley Equine Hospital, Chino, CA. After his internship, did Master in Science in Clinical Epidemiology and an Equine Surgery Residency at the University of Florida. In 2007, Dr. Ernst became a Diplomate of the American College of Veterinary Surgeons (ACVS). That year he was a clinical instructor in equine surgery, emergency and critical care at The Ohio State University Equine Hospital. Since 2008, Dr. Ernst is a Professor in Equine Surgery, Sports Medicine and Lameness at the University of Minnesota Leatherdale Equine Center.

Dr. Jenna Young is an equine surgeon based in the United States. Originally from Iowa, shevearned both her undergraduate and Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degrees from Iowa StatevUniversity. She completed an equine internship and residency in Equine Surgery at Oklahoma State University in Stillwater, Oklahoma. In 2019, Dr. Young joined the faculty at the University of Minnesota College of Veterinary Medicine, where she is a member of the Large Animal Surgery service and an Assistant Professor. She became a Diplomate of the American College of Veterinary Surgeons (Large Animal) in 2021.
